MISL presently operates two 389 cubic meters Blast Furnaces (BF-1 and BF-2) with all ore burden and produces about 1200 tonnes of hot metal per day (ref: table). MISL now proposes to undertake expansion to an integrated steel plant of 3.5 MT annual capacity in Phase 1. Existing hot metal production will be utilized for conversion into continuously cast billets. In Phase 2, balance capacity creation will be targeted. The saleable products will be cast slab, cast billet and long products.
