MESCO Airlines Ltd. MESCO Airlines Ltd. (MAL) was incorporated in August, 1991. MAL is the first private helicopter charter company in India. It is pioneered in large sized helicopters. It started its operations with the induction of 2 UH-12E Hiller Helicopter for Agro-spraying activities over the plantation crops in 1993. The company obtained a Air Taxi Operator permit from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and is engaged in the operation of non-scheduled aviation in the helicopter and Multi Engine Aeroplane service segment of the Aviation Industry. MAL operates on regular government contract of charter service for the states of Orissa, Himachal Pradesh & Chhattisgarh. It also provides planes on charter services to other places. Prominent customers are ONGC, various state Governments, Public Sector companies. The company has a fleet of helicopters comprising Ecureil, MI-172, Hiller. It also has a fixed wing twin engined P-68 Observer. Realizing the need for 20-26 passenger helicopters, for mountainous and off-shore regions, MAL was quick to identify the potential of MI-172 Russian helicopters and involved itself with the process of Civil Certification. We have added various helicopters and fixed wing aircrafts to its existing fleet. MAL has highly experienced aircrew and technicians.
